Dieser ausdrucksvolle Anhänger ist eine Replik nach dem sogenannten Gåtebo-Kreuz. Das historische Vorbild wurde als Reliquiar in Gåtebo auf der schwedischen Insel Öland gefunden und wird in das späte 11. beziehungsweise frühe 12. Jahrhundert eingeordnet.
Die Darstellung Christi ist von Ornamenten im späten Urnes-Stil umgeben – einer charakteristischen Kunstform aus der Endphase der Wikingerzeit. So verbindet der Anhänger christliche Bildsprache mit nordischer Gestaltung und eignet sich sowohl für historische Gewandungen als auch als markanter Schmuck im Alltag.

Gåtebo Cross Pendant
This striking pendant is a replica inspired by the so-called Gåtebo Cross. The historical original was discovered as a reliquary in Gåtebo on the Swedish island of Öland and is dated to the late 11th or early 12th century.
The depiction of Christ is surrounded by ornamentation in the late Urnes style, a distinctive art form from the final phase of the Viking Age. The pendant combines Christian imagery with Nordic design and is suitable both for historical attire and as distinctive everyday jewellery.
